The club can end your contract at any time, for any reason, with minimal notice and no further compensation. One of the most dangerous clauses an athlete can agree to.

Image Rights — Full Assignment
Your name, face, and likeness handed to the club for free — for the duration of the contract and years beyond. A fair deal retains your rights or pays you separately.

Undefined Morality Clause
The club can terminate your contract if they decide your behaviour damaged their reputation — with no definition of what that means. Completely open to misuse.

Unilateral Option Clause
The club can extend your contract by one or two years on identical terms. You have no say. No salary increase is guaranteed. This can trap you and suppress your market value.
"The Club has the sole and unilateral option to extend this Agreement for a further two years on the same terms and conditions."

Wage Deferral Clause
The club can delay paying your wages if they declare financial difficulty — and you cannot leave because of it. Used to trap players at struggling clubs for months at a time.
"The Club reserves the right to defer payment of wages for up to 60 days during periods of financial difficulty as determined by the Board."

After leaving you cannot play for a competing club for 12 to 18 months. This can force you into a lower level, cost you peak earning years, or end your career at that standard.
